About “Candles by Texans"
Making candles was birthed out of my wife, Anne, buying candles that would not burn. Just before Christmas of 1997 I ordered candle making supplies not knowing anything about making candles. It just could not be that difficult. Boy was I surprised! After making my first candles that smoked, would not burn right and did not have a scent throw, I begin to do a lot of research into how to make candles. With a lot of trial and error, candles begin to burn without smoking and smell good. I sold my first candle in the fall of 1998. I made and sold candles at craft shows and did a few fundraiser's under the name Anne’s Candle Cabin (Anne's Candle Cabin). Because of my candle making we began to stock inventory for candle making. My wife did not make candles and still does not but she liked working with customers and sales. For two years Anne and I did craft shows, fundraiser's, as well as teaching full time. We decided to give up the craft shows and fundraiser's and open a “wholesale” based candle supply company. We chose the name Wick's Wares Candle & Soap Making Supplies (Wick's Wares). Nothing special, just our last name.
Because of heart problems I had to retire in 2005 and began to get bored. I could get around but just could not stand all day. Well candles can be made sitting down so back to candle making I went and “Candles by Texans” (Candles by Texans) was born. “Candles by Texans” is "retail/wholesale" based wholesale is based on quantity and we ship to all 50 states. We are also building a new warehouse.
We personally stand behind every product Wick’s Wares and Candles by Texans produces. Our company is dedicated to producing the highest quality candles/products available on the market today. We look forward to many more years of success.
